RULES OF THE TRAILS

ALL Snowmobiles MUST be registered in NYS to travel any trails within the State ! |

|
|
ALL Snowmobiles MUST be insured and have all necessary Credentials on their person including Safety Certificate under age 18. Train your Youngsters (10-17 year olds must have a NYS snowmobile safety certificate) Inspect your sled before riding and ensure you and your sled are 100% LEGAL. NO ALTERED EXHAUST SYSTEMS ALLOWED !

Dress Warmly w/water repellant and layered clothing appropriate for the whole day ! |

|
Don't Drink and Ride |
|
|
Do Not Ride on CLOSED Trails. Always check the website or call the Trail Bosses in the areas you intend to ride for UPDATES ! |
|
|
|
STAY on marked trails |
|
STOP to right of trail when approaching oncoming Groomers or from behind them and await their signals to proceed! |
|
|
Respect the right of the landowners |
|
|
|
Do Not Litter |
|
Obey ALL signs |
|
|
Obey highway signs |
|
|
Use hand signals with oncoming sled traffic |
|
|
Travel in single file and don't tailgate |
|
|
Keep to the RIGHT when meeting other snowmobilers |
|
|
Reduce speed at night |
|
|
Beware of obstacles (rocks, stumps, pipes, wires, ice, etc.) |
|
|
Check ice conditions before crossing |
|
|
If unfamiliar with area, have a map with you and carry a cell phone with Emergency Contacts |

|
|
|
|
|
MAXIMUM OPERATIONAL SPEED FOR SNOWMOBILES IS 55 MPH EVERYWHERE IN NYS - OBEY IT ! |
