Thanks to the 11 volunteers last Saturday (10/3), we were able to get over 1 mile of the S70 trail (the trail between the Knox Town Park and Township Tavern) widened and re-routed. This was an effort to allow the use of the Piston Bully 100 to groom this trail, making this a more enjoyable and safer trail.
As part of the upgrade, club President Chad Saddlemire worked with The Land Conservancy to get us official approval to both use the trail system (within Land Conservancy) and allow us to make needed changes to the trail system.
We’ve also had help from some of the land owners. One of them cleared a large re-route for us on their property. The Roberts family cleared a way, which by-passes a long narrow area through a stand of Tamaracks. By them making this change to the trial we did not have to take down 20+ large healthy trees, while at the same time straightening out the trail in this section.
Work is still continuing on this section of trail and should be complete by the opening of this snowmobile season. A big Thank You! to all that have helped and to all the landowners for allowing us the chance to use this trail system.
Attached are pictures from the Roberts property.
The club will need as many volunteers as possible to help widen the trail from Knox Cave Road to the Township Tavern. The club has been given permission to open up the trail to 15 feet on that corridor which will allow for the large groomers to groom this winter.

During the summer when everyone's sleds are put away for the summer, Some club volunteers are working on the machines that keep the trails enjoyable! Repairs, including new axles were installed on the Club's Pisten Bully 100.
Another Club Member and Board Member, Laudy Hoyenga, spent his time overhauling the Club's Bombardier Skidozer 252.
Mechanical, Body work, track work, new paint, and glass are some of the upgrades to this machine and it's looking great!
